About the Role
OMA Hong Kong is looking for a talented Junior Designer/Architect with exceptional design sensibility and a strong interest in working across a diverse range of projects and scales.
In this role, you will contribute to projects across all phases, from initial concept development through design, technical documentation and construction. You will work closely with Project Leaders and design teams to develop project concepts, narratives and design proposals, while supporting coordination with internal teams and external consultants.
This position is suitable for a recent graduate starting their professional career. Prior professional experience as an architect or designer is not required. We are looking for candidates with a strong portfolio, sound technical and communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to collaborate effectively within an international team.
Qualifications
- Professional degree in Architecture, Urban Planning or a related field.
- Strong conceptual, graphic and design skills, demonstrated through a high-quality portfolio.
- Proficiency in Rhinoceros and Adobe Creative Suite
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and/or Grasshopper is an advantage.
- Proficiency in one or more rendering engines (e.g. Enscape, V-Ray, D5) and/or AI-assisted design or visualisation tools is an advantage.
- Strong visualisation, design communication, and physical model-making skills.
- Additional technical or computational design skills are an advantage.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
- Fluency in written and spoken English; proficiency in Chinese, Korean or another language is an advantage.
- Relevant internship experience, particularly on large-scale architecture or urban design projects at an international practice, is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with project teams across concept design, design development and project execution.
- Contribute to the development of design concepts and proposals through research, drawings, physical and digital models, visualisations and graphic representations.
- Assist with the preparation of project presentations, drawing packages and technical documentation.
- Participate actively in team discussions and support the project team throughout the project lifecycle.
- Use industry-standard design and modelling software for design, drafting, modelling, rendering and data analysis.
