About the role
OMA New York is looking for Senior Architects to join our office.
In this role, you will contribute to projects across all phases, with a strong emphasis on the Construction Administration (CA) phase for projects based in the United States. We are looking for candidates who demonstrate exceptional technical expertise, deep hands-on CA experience, strong site and field coordination skills, and robust communication skills, and who can operate at the highest professional level.
Candidates should have experience in developing client relationships, leading and mentoring a team, and completing high quality work through all project phases. Senior Architects will work directly with consultants to produce comprehensive design packages, in close collaboration with OMA Associates and Partners.
You will work closely with Project Leaders and design teams to establish and develop the project design direction, produce and coordinate technical documentation, and oversee project realization. Depending on project needs and your experience, you may also lead teams responsible for specific aspects of a project.
Required:
- 8+ years’ experience that includes all design phases, with heavy, hands-on experience in the Construction Administration (CA) phase for projects in the United States
- Proven track record leading Construction Administration responsibilities—including RFIs, submittals, site visits, field observation reports, and contractor/consultant coordination—on US-based projects
- Experience serving at the Architect of Record level, holding full responsibility for code compliance, permitting, and construction document accuracy on US projects
- Professional or Graduate Degree in Architecture
- License to practice architecture in the US (D.C. registration is a plus)
- Professional proficiency in AutoCAD, Rhino and Adobe Suite
- Knowledge of US building codes and standards
- Portfolio of realized and/or published projects representing a wide range of program types
- Excellent communication skills, including experience of presenting and coordinating projects through all phases to client and consultant teams
- Confidence working collaboratively in a dynamic, international environment
- Fluency in English
- Experience in delivering full construction documentation packages
- Knowledge and experience in working on Revit/BIM projects
- Project management and/or team leadership experience through all phases
- Experience with projects in Washington, D.C. is a plus
