About the Role

OMA’s Rotterdam office is looking for a Contract Manager to join our Contract Management Department. In this position, you will independently manage contracts for OMA’s projects worldwide, participating in the entire contract lifecycle, from drafting and negotiation to execution and post-signature management. In this role, you will ensure compliance, mitigate legal and financial risk, and support project and business development activities. You will work closely with OMA’s management, project leaders, and company support functions globally.

Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts related to OMA’s international projects;
  • Support project tendering and business acquisition processes;
  • Advise management on contract terms, highlighting key obligations, compliance requirements, and risk exposure to enable informed business decisions;
  • Manage contractual relationships with clients, partners, and sub-consultants;
  • Coordinate the resolution of contractual disputes in collaboration with external advisers when required;
  • Ensure consistency and quality of contract documentation across global projects;
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to structure contracts that protect the company while enabling successful project delivery and business growth;
  • Manage contract modifications, including amendments, scope changes, extensions, and subcontracting arrangements;
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of contract management practices and tools;

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Law, with experience in contract management and commercial legal practice. Practical, business-oriented judgment is highly valued;
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in contract management, preferably within the building or construction industry (architecture, engineering, or real estate);
  • Native or professional fluency in English, proficiency in other languages is a strong advantage;
  • Proven experience in managing and negotiating contracts, preferably in the building industry;
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to provide practical, business-oriented advice;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to collaborate with global colleagues and clients;
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities; able to prioritize and meet deadlines;
